Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Database Administrator to join our team! In this role you will get to assist in overseeing the Foundation GEOINT Standards (FGS) database and contribute to FGS-DPS Cloud infrastructure development.
This Hybrid Opportunity will accommodate 16 hours of teleworking per week.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist in leading the Source Foundation GEOINT (SF) Standards Team in the role of building, maintaining useable database environment and structure to support the enhancement and maintenance of cloud-based applications.
Assist the customer in defining and shaping the FGS cloud based, DevOps strategic vision and buildout of SF symbology data-driven online presence using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) DevOps technologies.
Attend and contribute to the Defense Geospatial Information Working Group (DGIWG) technical meeting, an international Symbology Standards forum.
Perform independently and as a team leader under tight deadlines managing priorities.
Ensure connectivity between application programing interface (APIs) both internal and external.
Work in a multi-contractor / government organization.
Work with international partners, travelling to meet face-to-face when necessary but also able to work well via email and teleconference.
Provide expertise to interpret and implement customer data requirements.
Maintain and track an Agile schedule in an appropriate project management capability (Redmine, JIRA, etc.
)What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor s degree or higher IT, Computer Science or relevant field plus 12+years experience to include 2
years of Database Administration, System Engineering, System Integration, and/or Web Development experience, or equivalent Senior Level work experience as a Database Administrator.
Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCIProven working experience as a Database AdministrationHands-on experience with database standards and end user applicationsExcellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQLFamiliarity with database design, documentation, and codingPrevious experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party toolsFamiliarity with programming languages APIProblem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
Proficient in Linux, MySQL/PostgreSQL/ Relational DatabaseWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Familiarity with JIRA, Gitlab CI/CD, OpenShift, JavaScript, etc.
Understanding of NSG, proficiency in AWS (Amazon Web Service) Tools/Technologies, Git, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenShift Platform.
Familiarity with Cloud Services (Platform as a Service, Database as a Service, etc.
)Ability to work with international partners, attend and contribute to the Defense Geospatial Information Working Group (DGIWG) technical meeting, an international Symbology Standards forum.
Strong team player, self-starter, comfortable working in a complex/multifaceted development environmentUnderstanding of the Global, Regional, Local and Urban/Specialized (GRLS) topographic data storesDemonstrated ability to work in a multi-contractor / government organization.
