The SME, ArcSight Administrator supports a United States Agency's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) organization protecting the network security of tens of thousands of users.

The SME, ArcSight Administrator is a member of the CERT Advanced Technology Group (ATG). The primary focus of the ATG is to research new COTS security tools, develop implementation plans and execute installations and upgrades, and maintain specific applications and their hardware in support of operational needs. The SME, ArcSight Administrator function is part of the ATG and is required to support the following:
- Patch and update application software as needed
- Maintain version control and document all changes
- Develop processes for application use by all Operators
- Upgrade and maintain application to current (supported) version
- Develop Dashboards, Channels, Rules, Filters, Reports, and Data Monitors as needed
- Lead all C&A efforts
- Provide 24x7x365 application support (may be on-call)
- Must be able to troubleshoot and install all components on Red Hat Linux platform.


Qualifications
Required Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
- Certification in AESSA (ArcSight Enterprise Security Solution Architect) is required.

Required
Experience:
- In addition to required education or equivalent experience;
- Minimum ten years IT experience.
- Must have at least four years experience in the role of ArcSight Administrator.
- Must be familiar with both Windows OS and Red Hat Linux for troubleshooting and installation.
-Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred
Experience:
- Experience with business process reengineering, capability maturity model, change management, or process improvement.
- Experience with requirements and/or configuration management tool, such as DOORS, RequisitePRO, ClearCase, or PVCS

Qualities/Additional info:

SME, ArcSight Administrator should be a proven team player with excellent oral and written communications skills, and a fine attention to detail.

He/she should also be a self-starter, capable of working on projects independently, if required.

Extremely effective oral and written communications skills are a must, in order to present strategy, architecture and status information to the client in both formal and informal review settings.

Frequent interaction with government client is required.

Occasional local travel. Occasional weekend hours (

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
