The Database Management Specialist supports a United States Government Agency Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) protecting the agency's network security.

Database Management Specialist responsibilities include:
- Maintaining databases containing information interpreted from CERT sensor data and reported by information sharing partners for government and the private sector.
- A strong working knowledge of Oracle is mandatory.
- Must be able to install and configure Oracle DB (at least through versions 9i and 10) on various platforms including but not limited to: Windows 2000, and Linux Red Hat.
- Candidate will provide administrative support, architectural support, and back-up and recovery support.
Required Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Minimum six years of relevant professional experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
- The ability to obtain certification in MCDBA (Microsoft Certified Applications Developer) and/or MCIPT (Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Enterprise Administrator Certification) within 6 months of hiring is desired.

Required Experience:
- In addition to required education or equivalent experience;
- Minimum five yrs relational ODBC compliant Database experience under multiple Operating Systems (e.g. Linux Red Hat, Windows 2000, and Solaris 2.9).
- Must have at least seven years Oracle DB experience with at least one year on versions 9i or 10.
-Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Experience:
- Exceptional writing and documentation skills.
- Security Information Management (SIM), and Computer Associates Unicenter and Portal solutions.
- Experience with information security devices (e. g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems) and applications (e.g. security information management tools (e.g., NetForensics, ArcSight)

Qualities/Additional info:

Database Management Specialist should be a proven team player with excellent oral and written communications skills.

Database Management Specialist should also be self-starter, capable of working on projects independently, if required.

Frequent interaction with government client is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
