Generate and disseminate digital and hardcopy maritime datasets to support worldwide Safety of Navigation and Marine Domain Awareness. Support the production of Digital Nautical Charts (DNCs) by performing cartographic analyst functions. Support Littoral Planning Chart production using ESRI PLTS software and the Enterprise Print on Demand (ePOD) production system. Support Notice to Mariners production to enhance the timeliness of updated nautical information.
o Perform cartographic production support leveraging attribution processes and cartographic finishing techniques.
o Leverage ArcGIS and ESRI PLTS software to perform geo-locational mensuration functions.
o Compile, segregate, evaluate, research, interpret, analyze, and disseminate intelligence information to support operations.
o Prepare, maintain, and present intelligence displays, reports, and briefings with the creation and use of visual aids and drafting, editing, and proofreading documents for publishing.
o Provide subject matter expertise and work collaboratively as a member of an integrated government and contractor team.
o Position is available on 18 August 2014.
Required Skills and Education
Required education: High School/GED
Preferred Skills and Education
o Experience producing Digital Nautical Charts (DNCs) o Team-oriented cartographic production environment experience. o Adept at working in a dynamic, fast pace, team environment with the ability to manage multiple time constrained projects. o Extensive experience with ESRI's ARC PLTS software tools tools. o Experience with GAIT, ArcGIS Data ReViewer, or comparable geospatial data inspection software. o Experience in combining digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats. Experience working with geospatial data in a multi-user enterprise environment. o Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. o Knowledge of basic coordinate systems (latitude and longitude, UTM); knowledge of projections and their properties Must be willing to work 2nd Shift. 2:30 to Midnight
