Company: American Energy Restaurant Equipment is a highly successful, locally grown and family owned business that started 35 years ago from the owner's backyard and has grown into the region's preeminent foodservice equipment dealer. In addition to selling and installing commercial foodservice equipment, AERE rents dishwashers and ice machines and provides on-call service for this equipment. The current position is for a full-charge (AR, AP and GL) bookkeeper to assist both our equipment sales division and our equipment rental and service division.
Description: As a full-charge bookkeeper, the successful candidate will assist AERE's bookkeepers with 1) processing AR-related transactions, including invoicing and payment transactions, new customer set-up and collection activities; 2) processing AP-related transactions; 3) maintaining all banking transactions; 4) maintaining inventory records; 5) calculating commissionable sales; and 6) providing month-end and year-end reports and reconciliations. All of these responsibilities require someone who can interact comfortably and professionally with customers and AERE's sales force and technicians. Though a candidate may not be familiar with our accounting program, the successful candidate must be comfortable with general accounting principles (remember the old t-charts?!), have a numbers-oriented mindset and the drive to find that last penny when the accounts don't reconcile.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
