ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Chief of Police leads and manages a command staff and workforce of over 150 employees to ensure compliance with Federal laws and Agency rules and regulations pertaining to law enforcement work. The incumbent oversees the maintenance of law and order; protection of civil rights; provision of assistance in emergency situations; investigation of criminal activity and misconduct; and safeguarding NGA personnel and assets. Serves as a Division Chief and oversees daily police operations at NGA facilities, workforce shift scheduling, training, and accountability and acquisition of equipment/supplies requirements. Plans, programs, and budgets for police operations, develops policy, and conducts strategic planning to ensure their department operates efficiently and effectively. Reports to the Director, NGA Office of Protective Services. The duties associated with this position include:
Direction and oversight of a diverse workforce of over 150 personnel (i.e., government personnel); Management and accountability of controlled and sensitive property (i.e., firearms, CBRNE equipment, vehicles, uniforms, IT and communication systems, and other related law enforcement equipment); Senior representative at IC, DoD, and federal/state/local activities related to police operations, law enforcement, safety, and security; Key contributor in the identification of education, development, certification, and training requirements for all assigned police officers, to include special units (i.e., canine, rapid response); Oversight and management of the performance of full-range of security operations and law enforcement duties within the confines of NGA installations and facilities, to include criminal investigations/inquiries, enforcement of federal laws, and advise off-site security managers; Manage highly-complex, sensitive, or ambiguous challenges facing police officers; and ensures workforce upholds NGA's Core Values; Interact with, influence, and persuade high-ranking officials within and outside the organization, agency, and other external organizations; make decisions that have an impact within and outside the immediate organization and agency; Supervises government subordinate managers and/or supervisors, and/or provides direction to the Regional, Site, and Watch Commanders; Coordinates with counterparts to ensure consistency in policy compliance, with agreed upon unique regional procedures. Implements applicable strategies (i.e., National Security Strategy, Defense Security Strategy, Military Security Strategy, National Intelligence Strategy, NGA Strategy, and other related SI or SIP applicable supporting strategies, goals, or milestones). Selection into a Police Officer position at NGA requires additional requirements for both entry and for continued service as a police officer. Those requirements include:
1. Per the Lautenberg Amendment, individuals who have been convicted of domestic violence, or are the Subject of a restraining/protective order for domestic violence, are not eligible for employment or assignment as a NGA Police Officer. 2. In applying for this position, the applicant consents to and authorizes NGA to perform a preliminary criminal and driving record background check via NCIC, NLETS, and D-DEX to determine eligibility and suitability as a police officer. 3. As mandated by DoD Instruction 5525.15, Police Officers must successfully complete an NGA accepted police academy in order to continue employment with NGA. 4. Prior to being selected for this position, applicants who are not currently NGA Police Officers will have to successfully complete a written entrance examination, police interview, NGA Police Physical Ability Test (PAT), and initial physical by the NGA Medical Unit. Applicants may also be subject to a psychological examination. 5. NGA Police Officers are required to pass annual medical examinations, PATs, firearms qualifications, and in-service training. Failure to do so will result in the removal of the employee from a police officer position and/or employment with NGA. 6. Applicants must hold and maintain a valid, unexpired state drivers' license throughout their period of employment with NGA. Additional Application Requirement:

For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience managing business, budget, resources, or a program at an office/division or law enforcement command staff level or higher. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A. Education:
A minimum of 2 years of coursework beyond the high school level with at least 12 semester (18 quarter) hours, preferably in Criminology, General Law, Law Enforcement, Police Administration, Police Investigation, Police Law and Evidence. -OR- B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
A minimum of 12 semester (18 quarter) hours in any area listed in option A, plus experience that provides knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college work is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 2 years. -OR- C.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement or security work that provides knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques. Experience can also include military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws; or other work that provided the required knowledge and skills related to law enforcement or security work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid driver's license and must maintain a valid driver's licenses while employed at NGA; Successful completion of an initial Physical Ability Test (PAT) as mandated by DOD Instruction 5525.15 and determined by command staff. -AND- Must successfully complete the Uniformed Police Training Program through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). The following Certification must be maintained after your FLETC's training:
Firearms Certification, Less-lethal weapons use Certification (e.g. monadock, oleoresin capsicum (OC); Successful completion of First Aid/CPR course. Successful completion of an NGA accepted police academy. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
