Counterintelligence Officer

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Detect, deter, mitigate, neutralize and/or exploit potential espionage activities and/or foreign actors posing threats to NGA personnel, technology, information and information systems. Conduct defensive counterintelligence (CI) briefings for NGA personnel. Debrief NGA personnel reporting CI information. Develop and prepare CI Threat Assessments on specific events and locations. Conduct personnel CI Risk Assessments to determine the associated risks from close and continuing relationships with foreign nationals. Conduct company risk assessments to determine risks associated with foreign ownership or influence affecting NGA contractors and vendors. Collect information and prepare Intelligence Information Reports on foreign intelligence entities and international terrorism targeting GEOINT. Conduct CI inquiries. Liaise, coordinate and collaborate with elements of the US CI community and the National System for GEOINT. Administer business processes associated with CI mission support and office administration. For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 1. Experience conducting intelligence and/or threat analysis to produce/coordinate analytical products. 2. Knowledge of ODNI and DoD Counterintelligence (CI) policies, and knowledge of Cl activities including collection, investigations, Cl Cyber, and/or Technical Surveillance Countermeasures. 3. Experience conducting, coordinating or supporting counterintelligence, security or military investigations/operations supporting the DoD or US Intelligence Community. 4. Demonstrated ability or experience in data and information analysis, problem solving, and/or data mining. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A. Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Security, Area Studies, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C.
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent Credentialing Course, the Defense Counterintelligence Agents Course (DCAC) or Service Equivalent Counterintelligence Certification Course as directed by management; Successful completion of the ITC TSCM Fundamentals Course may be required.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1. Current or previously credentialed Cl officer or special agent with knowledge of counterespionage operations. 2. Knowledge of Cl operations and analysis of adversary use of information systems. 3. Knowledge of technical threats posed by foreign intelligence services; experience in anti-terrorism/force protection. 4. Demonstrated progressive counterintelligence experience with an emphasis on the ability to lead team of investigators conducting inquiries and/or investigations. 5. Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, or a related field.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
