Program Specialist

This Program Specialist position is located in Intelligence & Analysis Division (I&A), Front Office (FO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), serving as an Executive Assistant for the Assistant Administrator (AA) and Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA). Duties include but are not limited to:
Contributes to formulating I & A policies and processes, providing the administrative aspects of this work and interpreting these policies. Leads and coordinates the administrative activities and functions for the AA and DAA to include developing and scheduling high-level meetings, reserving meeting space, coordinating and printing daily briefing books, scheduling transportation, and other duties as required. Ensures day-to-day action items, requests for information, and meeting logistics are prepared, coordinated, reviewed, and completed in an effective and efficient manner. Coordinates and facilitates all logistics for International and Domestic travel and travel claims for the principal (other staff as requested). Performs special assignments and tasks initiated by the principal AA as requested, many of which are of a confidential nature Reviews issues and requests, consulting the AA as necessary, to make determination on highly sensitive, complex matters that require the principal's attention This position is also being announced through Public (US Citizen) procedures under Announcement #HQ-OS-IA-20-766476-P. To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-H Pay Band or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as progressively responsible experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such specialized experience is defined as:
Working on behalf of a senior official at the highest levels of an agency/organization, to provide guidance and oversight on a wide range of administrative services, inquiries, on-the-spot priority decisions and communications/general follow-up with other senior executives and staff; Planning/coordinating executive level meetings and conferences that include making all necessary arrangements, researching and preparing meeting materials, organizing schedules of multiple participants, taking minutes, and following up on action items; Managing an active calendar of appointments, coordinating multiple projects and serving as liaison to external constituents; AND Preparing complex and detailed global travel plans, itineraries, agendas and expense reports. Note:
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
